Motivation
Mein Sohn lernt schon ab der ersten Klasse Englisch. Dabei liest und schreibt er keine Worte oder Sätze, sondern lernt nur die Aussprache und Bedeutung englischer Worte anhand von Bildern.
Als Schüler habe ich nichts weniger gerne getan, als im Englischbuch Vokabeln zu lernen. Aber ohne andauerndes Wiederholen der Vokabeln lässt sich keine Sprache erlernen.
Erst Jahre später sah ich in der U-Bahn einen jungen Mann mit einer Art Kartenspiel, auf der einen Seite deutsche Begriffe und auf der anderen die englische Übersetzung. Er schaute sich den deutschen Begriff an, überlegte kurz und überprüfte seine Antwort durch Umdrehen der Karte. Nachdem er den Stapel mit zunehmendem Tempo mehrmals durchgearbeitet hatte, drehte er das Kartenspiel um und übte die Übersetzung von Englisch nach Deutsch.
Motivation
My son has been learning english already since the first grade. He does not read or write words or sentences but learns the pronunciation and meaning of english words based on images.
When I went to school I liked nothing less than learning vocabulary in my english book. But without constant repetition of vocabulary you can not learn a foreign language.
Only years later I saw a young man in the subway with a deck of cards, on one side german words and on the other the english translation. He looked at a german word, thought for a while and finally verified his answer by turning the card. After working through the stack for several times with increasing speed, he turned the complete deck of cards to practice the translation from english to german.
Idee
